A warm welcome to the leaders of the Planning Department of the Institute of Planning under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for their visit to Planteq to conduct a research study on the “15th Five-Year Plan” for the seed industry.
On April 11, 2025, a delegation of 15 officials from the Planning Department of the Planning Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs visited Qingdao Planteck Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. to conduct a special research study on seed industry machinery as part of the “15th Five-Year Plan” for seed industry development planning. The CEO of Planteck and heads of relevant departments attended the symposium.
During the symposium, Plantec, as the only domestic enterprise that serves as the original R&D and manufacturing hub for intelligent field-testing equipment for crop breeding, briefed the leaders on the company’s development journey and a series of its latest R&D innovations in breeding-test equipment, while also presenting an overview of the current state of China’s seed-sector machinery industry and the associated challenges. Subsequently, the two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on how to promote high-quality development of China’s seed-sector machinery over the next five years.
Leaders of the Planning Department of the Planning Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs first outlined that the primary objectives of this field survey are to gather information on needs, assess the current status of seed industry enterprises, and lay the groundwork for drafting the next round of policies and plans for seed industry development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. At the same time, they expressed high appreciation for Qingdao Plantech Machinery Technology Co., Ltd.’s achievements in the field of intelligent equipment for on-farm breeding trials in China. Drawing on the Ministry’s planning framework and the findings from the preliminary assessment, they emphasized that, while continuing to optimize its existing equipment, Plantech should further expand its product value chain and, in particular, pursue innovative breakthroughs in the seed-production segment.
Leaders of the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that Qingdao Planteck Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., as a leading domestic enterprise specializing in intelligent field-testing equipment for crop breeding, has made outstanding contributions to the revitalization of the seed industry. They expressed the hope that Planteck will continue to strive for excellence, uphold collaborative innovation, break through critical bottlenecks in seed-production and breeding equipment technologies, serve as a driver of policy development and lead the formulation of industry standards, take the lead in modernizing seed-industry machinery, and strengthen and expand the seed-equipment sector.
